Who is the real Santa Claus?

Santa Claus is a real person who lived in Ancient Turkey. He was known as Nicholas and was born in 255-257. His parents died when he was a child. But his parents were very rich and Nicholas got a lot of money. So, he had to live with his uncle who was a priest.

Once, Nicholas heard the story of a man who had no money and was very pour. He had three daughters. But they couldn't get married because it was impossible to get married without money. And his daughters could become slaves because their family had nothing to eat.

And the night before the eldest daughter had to become slave, she washed her socks and put them over the fireplace so that they could get dry. And the whole family went to sleep.

In the morning a girl found something in the sock. She found a little but heavy bag, There was gold in it. And it was enough to buy food and to get married. The next morning one more bag with gold was found and the second daughter was saved. The next night a man decided to stay awake the whole night to find out who puts money into their socks. But he fell asleep and wake up because he heard a sound of coins. And he saw Nicholas, who lived with priest. Nicholas asked not to tell to anybody about him and said that the family should be thankful to God.

Nicholas helped also to other people. And he always asked not to tell to anybody about his help. He wanted neither attention nor gratitude. When Nicholas died, a fairy-tail and a hope died. But people found bags with golden and it turned into tradition.

Now people find presents under Christmas trees, under pillows, in shoes and in socks. And people say that Saint Nicholas brings these presents to children.
